Shopping Day: Book Off.

Book Off San Diego.

Hello~ today I went to San Diego to Book Off for shopping.

[When I say today, I mean Monday 08/08/2016, when I wrote this]

            Book Off is a Japanese book store that sells second handed items, including books, manga, videogames, movies, cds, electronics, house items, etc. There several of these in japan, the main one is in Tokyo and is five stories.

            In the US there are six Book Offs in California, one in New York, and two in Hawaii. The nearest one to me is in San Diego, and it’s not so near, after crossing the border is a two hours travel in public transportation.

This time I bought 8 items:

Hola, esta es una mini reseña del diario 3 de Gravity Falls, lo compré durante Comic Con y la verdad no me arrepiento.

            Mi hermano menor y yo vimos la serie juntos y nos gustó mucho, así que en cuanto pude conseguí el diario.

            Para empezar, esta reseña no será del contenido en sí, sino del libro físicamente, que es el punto más fuerte del mismo como objeto de colección.

            El diario viene con una sobrecubierta, muchos cuando vieron el diario por twitter se quejaron de que la portada tenía el logo de Gravity Falls, pero eso sólo es en la sobrecubierta, al retirarla se pueden apreciar unos planos por McGucket en el interior. El diario es de tapa dura y es idéntico al de la serie, aquí les dejo unas fotos sin la sobrecubierta, por enfrente y el reverso.

Hi! Today I share with you this mini review of Gravity Falls’ Journal 3. My brother and I watched the show together and we really liked it, so when I had the chance of buying it during Comic Con I did it, and it’s wonderful.

            The journal is hardcover and has a dust jacket. I saw some complaints on twitter about the Gravity Falls logo in the cover, but it is only in the dust jacket. If you remove it, on the inside you can see some blueprints of McGucket’s inventions. Here are some pictures of the journal with and without the dust jacket.

Hola, hoy les traigo la reseña de uno de mis mangas shounen ai favoritos… es más, es mi favorito. Efectivamente, yo leo mucho shounen ai y yaoi (por si no saben, son historias gay), así que verán varias reseñas de este tipo de mangas por aquí, si no les agrada el género, les recomiendo que no lean la reseña.

Shino Yuzuru. 

            El manga trata de dos jóvenes, Shino Yuzuro, estudiante de tercer año de preparatoria y Seryou Touji, estudiante de primer año.  En una mañana de lunes, Shino Yuzuro invita a salir a Seryou Touji en la entrada de la escuela como broma, ya que Seryou es bastante popular y tiene el hábito de salir siete días con la primera persona que se lo pida al inicio de la semana, sea hombre o mujer. Seryou siendo el novio perfecto durante esos 7 días, para luego terminar con las relaciones los domingos por la tarde. Shino no tiene la intención de tomarse en serio su relación con Seryou… aunque puede que cambie de opinión.

Hello~ today I review one of my favorite shounen ai mangas… well, it is my favorite one. I read a lot of yaoi and shounen ai manga (in case you don’t know they’re about boy x boy relationships), so you will see a lot of reviews of that genre in this blog. If you don’t like that genre, or are not comfortable with it, I recommend you not to read this review.

Shino Yuzuru.

            This story is about two high school boys, Shino Yuzuro, a third year student, and Seryou Touji, a first year student. One Monday morning, Shino asks Seryou to go out with him at the school entrance. He asked him out as a joke, Seryou is well known to go out seven days with the first person that asks him on Monday, it doesn’t matter the gender. Seryou becomes the perfect boyfriend those seven days and in the end he always breaks up with the person in Sunday. Shino doesn’t take their relationship seriously… but that may change.

I knew about this book at comic con, I was passing by and someone told me they were giving copies of it for free, so I picked up one despite not knowing what it was about.

            Curse of the Bogging tells us the story of a boy named Marcus O’Mara, a not so social kid that has a bad relationship with his parents. One day he sees a ghost that tries to give him a mysterious key, and since then he starts seeing frightening illusions that try to give him the same message “surrender they key.” The key opens the door that leads to a mysterious and supernatural library where there are books with the life stories of everyone, some of these stories are finished and some others are not. Marcus and his friends Lu and Theo will have to become library agents that will finish the unfinished stories to help the spirits to rest in peace, but before that happens, Marcus must protect the key and the library of a supernatural and evil entity that will endanger his life and the lives of his beloved ones.

Supe de la existencia de este libro en Comic Con, iba caminando y alguien me dijo que este libro era gratis, así que lo tomé aunque no tenía idea de que trataba. 

            Curse of the Boggin nos cuenta la historia de un niño llamado Marcus O’Mara, un niño no muy sociable y que tiene problemas con sus padres. Un día ve un fantasma que quiere hacerle llegar una misteriosa llave, y a partir de ese día empieza a presenciar ilusiones aterradoras, todas con el propósito de hacerle llegar un mismo mensaje “entrega la llave.” La llave abre la puerta a una biblioteca sobrenatural en la que las historias de todos están plasmadas en libros, algunas tienen final, pero otras no. La misión de Marcus y sus amigos dos amigos, Lu y Theo, será fungir como agentes de la biblioteca y encargarse de terminar las historias incompletas para que los espíritus puedan descansar en paz, pero antes de hacer eso Marcus debe proteger la llave y la biblioteca de un ente sobrenatural y maligno que pone su vida y las de sus seres queridos en peligro.
