Hello everyone! Halloween is around the corner, so I though it would be a good idea to review a book darker than the usual things I read, that’s why I chose The Strain, it has some elements of horror.

suffered from gigantism, and was brought to Romania by his father on an expedition to hunt wolves. The entire hunting party mysteriously died or disappeared, except for Sardu, who returned to his family home in Poland but was rarely seen by the townspeople; and he eventually became the village bogeyman. This little story is important to the whole plot, after that the real story begins, now we are settled in New York several years later, a Boeing 777 arrives at JFK and is on its way across the tarmac, when it suddenly stops dead. All window shades are pulled down. All lights are out. All communication channels have gone quiet. Crews on the ground are lost for answers, but an alert goes out to the CDC. Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather, head of their Canary project, a rapid-response team that investigates biological threats, gets the call and boards the plane. What he finds makes his blood run cold. There is some kind of virus transforming people into “vampires”, during his research he will team up with his colleague and former lover, Nora; a former professor and survivor of the Holocaust named Abraham; and a plague exterminator, Vasily Fet to save the city.

I know this book is kinda old, but I recently bought the third instalment of The Mortal Instruments, so I want to review the first two.

The mortal instruments is a really popular series, it has a movie (a bad one) and a Netflix series, I totally prefer the series.

                City of bones tells us the story of Clary Fray, She is a fifteen years old girl, and one night she goes to a night club named “Pandemonium”, there she witnesses a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air.  Clary discovers the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. After this encounter with the Shadowhunters, Clary’s life becomes a mess when her mother disappears and she is attacked by a demon, she ends up getting involved with the Shadowhunters world because she is also a Shadowhunter. Clary will discover a lot of secrets her mother hid from her while trying to rescue her from Valentine, an evil Shadowhunter who wants to possess the Mortal Cup, and he thinks Clary’s mother knows where it is. With the help of Jace Wayland, and Isabelle and Alec Lightwood, Clary will learn the ways of a Shadowhunter while trying to rescue her mom. 

  

                I have some trouble while writing this review because I liked the book but there's something that I don't like at all, and I'm not sure what it is.

Hi! Today I share with you this mini review of Gravity Falls’ Journal 3. My brother and I watched the show together and we really liked it, so when I had the chance of buying it during Comic Con I did it, and it’s wonderful.

            The journal is hardcover and has a dust jacket. I saw some complaints on twitter about the Gravity Falls logo in the cover, but it is only in the dust jacket. If you remove it, on the inside you can see some blueprints of McGucket’s inventions. Here are some pictures of the journal with and without the dust jacket.

I knew about this book at comic con, I was passing by and someone told me they were giving copies of it for free, so I picked up one despite not knowing what it was about.

            Curse of the Bogging tells us the story of a boy named Marcus O’Mara, a not so social kid that has a bad relationship with his parents. One day he sees a ghost that tries to give him a mysterious key, and since then he starts seeing frightening illusions that try to give him the same message “surrender they key.” The key opens the door that leads to a mysterious and supernatural library where there are books with the life stories of everyone, some of these stories are finished and some others are not. Marcus and his friends Lu and Theo will have to become library agents that will finish the unfinished stories to help the spirits to rest in peace, but before that happens, Marcus must protect the key and the library of a supernatural and evil entity that will endanger his life and the lives of his beloved ones.

xxxHolic is one of the most iconic mangas of CLAMP because it’s the link between all their stories.

CLAMP

            In case you don’t know them, CLAMP is a group of four mangakas, Tsubaki Nekoi, Satsuki Igarashi, Mokona Apapa, and Nanase Ohkawa. They’ve created some works with worldwide popularity including Card Captor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, X 1999, and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, just to name a few. Their stories are known for their intriguing and complex plots.

            xxxHolic is my favorite manga created by CLAMP, before saying the reason I will tell you what the story is about.

      

Yuuko Ichihara.

      xxxHolic tells us the story of Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student that has the ability to see supernatural stuff, something that has made him miserable. One day, while escaping from a youkai (Japanese demon) he finds a store where he meets a mysterious woman named Yuuko Ichihara, a witch that grants wishes. Watanuki wishes to stop seeing supernatural stuff, but Yuuko tells him that he must pay with something of equal value, and in his case his payment will be working for her until his work becomes equal to his wish. That is where Watanuki’s adventures begin; he often has to confront paranormal stuff while working for Yuuko.
